A one-time psychiatric consultation for a second opinion. This includes obtaining collateral information from providers involved in your care. Referrals to providers/programs may be provided.

Psychotherapy/CBT
Psychotherapy can help to develop a deeper understanding of self. Therapy may also be provided to help decrease feelings of distress, gain insight into behavior/emotions, improve relationships, develop life goals, and promote self-improvement. Based on your preferences and needs, a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or a psychodynamic psychotherapy approach will be primarily utilized. Some psychotherapeutic approaches include setting small achievable goals, exploration of your past, and identifying maladaptive patterns to facilitate your journey of self-discovery and healing. Psychotherapy appointments are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly.

Catholic Psychiatry
All individuals are welcome at Elevation Psychiatry. Valerie believes in respecting the spiritual beliefs of others and will not attempt to force their faith or personal/spiritual beliefs onto patients. Upon request, Valerie is committed to integrating respected therapy practices with Catholic-based teaching.

Telehealth
All consultations are provided virtually. The patient portal provides for HIPAA secure messaging. Due to licensing laws, you must be in Massachusetts for your telehealth appointment.
Insurance
Valerie is not on any insurance panels. She does not bill or accept payments from any federal or state payment programs, and the laws in place prohibit her from accepting patients who are eligible for such programs. Valerie can provide a billing document for you to submit for reimbursement. The reimbursement rate for out-of-network benefits may range from 20 to 90%. She recommends contacting your insurance company for details prior to starting treatment.

No Surprise Act
The No Surprises Act went into effect in 2022. The purpose of this Act is to make sure that you are aware of fees prior to receiving treatment. More information will be provided prior to making your first appointment. Visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises for more information about your rights under federal law.
